How To Write A Great Listing

📝 Title — The Most Important Field

YOUR TITLE SHOULD INCLUDE:

🏷️ Brand name LeMieux · Kentucky · Eskadron · Parlanti · Charles Owen · Horseware · Back on Track

📦 Item type Saddle Pad · Bridle · Tall Boot · Helmet · Turnout Rug · Girth · Breastplate

📏 Size Full · Cob · Pony · 37 · 38 · 39 · 145cm · 155cm · 165cm

🎨 Colour Navy · Black · White · Grey · Brown · Green · Pink

🏇 Discipline (if relevant) Dressage · Show Jumping · Eventing · Western · Endurance

✅ GOOD TITLE EXAMPLES:

→ LeMieux Pro Sport Saddle Pad — Navy — Full Size → Parlanti Passion Tall Boot — Black — Size 38 → Rambo Optimo Turnout Rug — 155cm — 200g → Kentucky Velvet Pearls Dressage Saddle Pad — Full → KWPN Mare — 8 years — Dressage — Gelderland

❌ BAD TITLE EXAMPLES:

→ Saddle pad for sale → Nice boots hardly used → Horse

💡 Tip: Include both Dutch AND English keywords so buyers find your listing whether they search in Dutch or English!

📸 Photos — First Impressions Matter

Take at least 3-4 photos:

Front view — clean, well-lit Back view Close-up of any wear, damage or special features Size label or brand tag

Photo tips:

Use natural daylight — go outside or near a window Use a clean, plain background — white wall, grass, stable floor No filters needed — buyers want to see the real item Show any defects honestly — builds trust and avoids disputes

For horses:

Include photos standing square, both sides Include a movement video if possible (YouTube link field available) Show any markings clearly

💶 Pricing — How To Price Your Item

Research first:

Check what similar items sell for on Havado, Vinted and eBay Second-hand items typically sell for 30-60% of retail price Popular brands (LeMieux, Kentucky, Parlanti) hold value better

Pricing guide:

Saddle pads: €15 - €60 Bridles: €30 - €200 Riding boots (tall): €80 - €400 Helmets: €40 - €500 Rugs: €30 - €120 Saddles: €300 - €3,000+ Horses: €2,000 - €500,000+

Include shipping in your price calculation — remember to set your shipping fee separately when listing!

🚚 Shipping Fee — What To Charge

Set your shipping fee separately from your item price. Use these guidelines:

📦 Small accessories (gloves, socks, bits) — under 1kg PostNL Letterbox → €4.50

📦 Clothing, saddle pads, small tack — 1 to 5kg DHL / PostNL → €7.95

📦 Boots, helmets, bridles — 5 to 10kg DHL / PostNL → €12.95

📦 Rugs & blankets — 5 to 15kg DHL / DPD → €14.95

📦 Saddles (standard) — 10 to 20kg DHL / DPD → €19.95 - €29.95

📦 Saddles (large/heavy) — 20 to 30kg DPD → €35.00 - €50.00

🚗 Collection only (trailers, lorries, large equipment) No shipping fee → €0.00

💡 Tip for saddles: Offer both shipping AND collection — many serious buyers prefer to collect in person to try the saddle on their horse first.

📋 Condition — Be Honest!

Always select the correct condition:

New with tags — unused, original tags still attached New without tags — unused but tags removed Very good — used a few times, no visible wear Good — used regularly, light wear, fully functional Fair — visible wear, some marks or minor damage, still usable

Honest condition descriptions = happy buyers = 5-star reviews = more sales! ⭐

📝 Description — Tell The Full Story

A good description includes:

How long you've owned it How often it was used Any defects, marks or repairs (be honest!) Size and fit details Why you're selling Collection/shipping options

Example description: "LeMieux Pro Sport saddle pad in navy, full size. Used for one season, washed after every use. Small mark on front left corner (shown in photo 3) — otherwise in excellent condition. Selling as I've switched to a different brand. Happy to ship or collect from Arnhem area."

Price Negotiation

Buyers may message you to ask if you'd accept a lower price — this is completely normal and part of buying and selling second-hand. Havado doesn't have a formal "make an offer" button, so negotiation happens through direct messages:

A buyer contacts you via the "Contact seller" button and proposes a price You can accept, decline, or counter with your own number If you agree on a new price, simply edit your listing price to match before the buyer completes the purchase The buyer then pays the updated price shown on the listing

💡 Tip: You're never obligated to lower your price. If you'd rather sell at your original asking price, it's completely fine to say so politely.

After Your Item Sells

📦 How To Ship Your Item

You receive an email from Havado when your item sells Pack your item securely — use bubble wrap, sturdy box or padded envelope Create a shipping label at myparcel.nl (DHL or PostNL) Print and attach the label to your parcel Drop off at your nearest DHL ServicePoint or PostNL point Share the tracking number in the Havado message thread with your buyer Get paid once the buyer confirms receipt ✅

💶 When Do You Get Paid?

🛡️ Seller Protection — You're Covered Too

[NEW SECTION]

Havado isn't just about protecting buyers — we want sellers to feel confident too. Here's how you're protected:

Accurate listings protect you. If you describe and photograph your item honestly (condition, flaws, measurements), you're protected. Buyers can only request a return or refund if the item significantly differs from your description — not for buyer's remorse or minor subjective opinions.

Payment is held securely until delivery. Havado holds the buyer's payment until they confirm receipt. You don't need to rely on trust — the money is already secured in the system before any dispute could arise.

You get to respond to disputes. If a buyer raises an issue, you'll have the chance to respond and provide evidence (photos, listing description, shipping proof) before any refund is issued. We don't automatically side with the buyer.

Proof of shipment protects you. Always use tracked shipping and keep your tracking number. If a package is lost or delayed by the carrier after you've shipped it correctly, you are not responsible for issuing a full refund — that's between the buyer and the carrier.

Chargebacks and fraud. If a buyer disputes a payment through their bank (a "chargeback"), Havado will review the evidence — tracking, messages, listing details — to support sellers who acted in good faith. We can't guarantee every outcome, since banks make the final call, but we'll do what we can to help.

No extra fees for honest sellers. Havado's 5% protection fee is charged to buyers, not sellers. You're not penalised for disputes handled fairly.

Reviews & Reputation

After every sale, buyers leave you a review. Your review score is shown on your profile and affects how much buyers trust you.

How to get 5-star reviews:

Accurate descriptions Fast shipping Good packaging Friendly communication Honest about any issues

Your reputation is your biggest asset on Havado! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
