For Sellers — How To Set Your Shipping Fee

When creating a listing on Havado, you will be asked to set a shipping fee separately from your item price. This fee is shown to buyers at checkout on top of your item price.

Recommended Shipping Fees

Use these guidelines when setting your shipping fee:

📦 Small accessories (gloves, socks, bits) — under 1kg PostNL Letterbox → €4.50

📦 Clothing, saddle pads, small tack — 1 to 5kg DHL / PostNL → €7.95

📦 Boots, helmets, bridles — 5 to 10kg DHL / PostNL → €12.95

📦 Rugs & blankets — 5 to 15kg DHL / DPD → €14.95

📦 Saddles (standard) — 10 to 20kg DHL / DPD → €19.95 - €29.95

📦 Saddles (large/heavy) — 20 to 30kg DPD → €35.00 - €50.00

📦 Stable equipment, tack boxes — 15 to 30kg DPD → €29.95 - €49.95

🚗 Collection only (trailers, lorries, large equipment) No shipping fee → €0.00

💡 Tip for saddles: Most serious buyers prefer to collect in person so they can inspect and try the saddle on their horse. We recommend listing saddles as "Shipping + Collection" and letting the buyer choose.

Step-by-Step — How To Ship Your Item

  1. Receive notification — when a buyer purchases your item you receive an email from Havado
  2. Pack your item securely — use appropriate packaging for the item type
  3. Create your shipping label — go to myparcel.nl and create a DHL or PostNL label
  4. Print and attach the label to your parcel
  5. Drop off at your nearest DHL ServicePoint or PostNL point
  6. Share tracking — paste the tracking number in the Havado message thread with your buyer
  7. Get paid — once the buyer confirms receipt, your payment is released ✅

Tips For Packing

  • Saddle pads & rugs: fold neatly, use a plastic bag inside the box to protect from moisture
  • Boots & helmets: wrap in bubble wrap, use a sturdy box
  • Bridles & bits: wrap in cloth or bubble wrap, use a padded envelope or small box
  • Clothing & accessories: fold neatly in a plastic bag, use a padded envelope
  • Saddles: wrap in blanket or bubble wrap, use a large sturdy box — consider DPD for heavy items

At checkout you will see a clear price breakdown:

Your shipping fee goes directly to the seller to cover their postage costs.

Once your seller ships your item, they will share the tracking number via the Havado message thread. You can track your parcel directly on:

  • PostNL: postnl.nl/tracktrace
  • DHL: dhl.com/track
  • DPD: dpd.com/track

What If My Item Doesn't Arrive?

  1. Check the tracking link first
  2. If the parcel is stuck or lost — contact the seller via Havado messaging
  3. If unresolved within 48 hours — contact Havado at hello@havado.net
  4. Havado buyer protection covers you — your payment is held until delivery is confirmed ✅

What If My Item Doesn't Match The Description?

  1. Take photos immediately upon opening the parcel
  2. Contact the seller via Havado messaging within 48 hours of delivery
  3. If unresolved — contact hello@havado.net with photos and order details
  4. Havado will review and process a refund if the item significantly differs from its description

Collection Only Items

Some large items (horse trailers, lorries, stable equipment) are listed as Collection only. For these:

  • No shipping fee is charged
  • Buyer and seller arrange collection directly via Havado messaging
  • Always meet in a safe public location or at the seller's stable
  • Havado buyer protection still applies — only pay through Havado, never cash in hand
  • Bring a friend for high-value collections

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING FEES:

🇧🇪 Belgium DHL / PostNL → €9.95 - €14.95

🇩🇪 Germany DHL / PostNL → €12.95 - €19.95

🌍 Rest of EU DHL Europlus → €19.95 and above

Prohibited Shipping Items

The following cannot be shipped via standard carriers:

  • Live animals (horses must be transported by specialist equine transport)
  • Hazardous materials
  • Items over 30kg (contact carrier for pallet shipping)
